MindOS
MindOS Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 4, 2026
The short version
MindOS is built to run entirely on your iPhone. We do not operate servers that
collect your health data, we do not sell or share your data, and we do not track
you across other apps or websites. Your sleep, heart, motion, and Screen Time
information is processed on your device and stays there.
What MindOS accesses, and why
MindOS asks for the following permissions only to provide its features. Each is
processed locally and is never transmitted off your device by us.
- Camera & flash — used during a fingertip reading to estimate heart rate and
heart-rate variability from changes in light through your fingertip. No photo or
video from a reading is recorded or stored. (When you choose to make a shareable
card with a selfie, that photo is handled by you through the system share sheet or
the app you share to — see "Sharing" below.)
- Microphone — sampled only while you are actively running sleep tracking, to
detect movement and disturbances using an inaudible tone and ambient sound. Audio
is analyzed in real time and is not recorded or saved.
- Motion & fitness — used to detect sleep, wake, and bedtime patterns.
- Apple Health (HealthKit) — with your permission, MindOS reads recent sleep
summaries to reduce the cold-start period, and can optionally write inferred sleep
windows back to Health if you enable that. MindOS does not share Health data with
anyone.
- Screen Time (Family Controls / Device Activity) — with your authorization,
MindOS reads how long you use apps you select, to estimate daily load. Apple's
framework keeps this data private to your device; MindOS receives only aggregate
usage and never the contents of any app.
- Notifications — if you enable the morning nudge, used only to send that local
reminder.
Data storage
All scores, readings, and history are stored locally on your device (and in your
private iCloud backup if you have device backups enabled, which is controlled by
your iOS settings, not by us). We do not maintain a copy.
Sharing
When you create a shareable card and send it to another app (for example Instagram
Stories, Messages, or Photos), that image leaves MindOS at your direction and is then
governed by the privacy policy of the destination app. MindOS does not upload it
anywhere on its own.
Data we do not collect
We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, location for advertising, or
any personal data on our servers. MindOS contains no third-party advertising or
tracking SDKs.
Children
MindOS is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from
them.
Your control
You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings → MindOS. You can delete
all MindOS data by deleting the app.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and, for material
changes, surface a notice in the app.
